La Guinguette de La Plage

Having visited about ten days ago, we experienced significant delays with our orders and cooking. This time again, as a group, the organization was complicated. Several after-dinner drinks and alcoholic beverages were refused, and there was discussion about how the bill was handled. There were constant, unpleasant remarks. We had also requested music for a birthday party, which was never played. Unacceptable; I do not recommend this place. The waitress was excellent, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. No music, no atmosphere (like a traditional French outdoor café).

A lovely little restaurant by the water. Very friendly welcome. Impeccable service. A very good meal; we chose the fish and chips, the hanger steak skewer, the French toast, and the chocolate mousse. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended. All the best, and see you soon to try the carp fries.

Not disappointed at all. I recommend this place, located in a beautiful little town.

If you're passing through, stop by! A warm welcome, a friendly team always smiling and in good spirits. A magnificent setting, right on the water... The change of ownership has done wonders for this establishment! The dishes are delicious and hearty. This open-air café is a real asset to the town. I highly recommend it. I'll be back.

How can they serve such mediocre food?? The children's nuggets were overcooked and inedible, and the fries smelled like grease. The breaded veal cutlet was tasteless with an incredibly dry coating!! You can make something simple and good, but this!! It's a disaster! Avoid at all costs!

A magnificent place, well worth a visit. A very warm welcome and a well-prepared meal – you won't be disappointed!

Edit 2025: I haven't been back to this place since the change of ownership, so take my initial review with a grain of salt; things may have changed since then. It's a real riverside café where you can dance. The welcome is friendly, and the setting is pleasant on the banks of the Cher River. The menu is extensive, and the portions are generous.

Nice atmosphere, but the food doesn't justify the prices... Furthermore, the menu is relatively limited... With the previous manager, the food offerings were more appealing, especially the wood-fired pizzas which complemented an already decent menu...
