Au petit bouchon

A generous meal. A pleasant discovery for two day visitors.

We had a great time with friends; we thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and the various desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant looked nice, the welcome was relatively warm, and the menu looked appealing. Only two other people were already seated. Our two-year-old daughter was with us. When we ordered, I explained to the owner that my daughter would eat a little of what I was ordering, but she made it clear that this wasn't possible, that she was taking up a seat, so she had to order a children's menu. I have to understand that times are tough, especially during the pandemic! I don't see how my daughter was taking up a seat she could have given to someone else, given that the restaurant was practically empty at 1 p.m.! Nevertheless, I gave in to the owner's request. My little one was brought a steak (of very average quality) plus potato gratin, followed by a small portion of fromage blanc (adult-sized!), all for the modest sum of €10. The menu wasn't cheap for a 2-year-old, I remind you... As for us, the meal was decent but accompanied by bad wines straight from the fridge and bread served in small paper bags. In the end, there's no question of going back!

Like many people before us, the reviews agree... Warm carafe, Fries cooked at least six times, and the pom-pom... Arrived at 12:45 PM, order taken at 1:20 PM, and served at 2:00 PM for a 2:15 PM departure... well, next time we'll take the time to read the reviews beforehand. So, definitely avoid this place.

Delicious food and a divine wine sauce... with impeccable service to match. Nothing to add, just thank you.

The place attracts attention, as evidenced by the visit of the Petit Futé, however, the water served is hot and the lemonade is flat. We are offered a salad as an accompaniment to a tart. A surprise day, wow, charged 12 euros for a piece of bagged salad and a ridiculous portion of tart. The dish is not worth the detour, a little extra for the fries. Luckily the dessert was good. 35 euros for 2, not a good deal at all...

Warm welcome, good food, good products, you can go there

Excellent place. Very friendly welcome. Efficient service. Everything is homemade, even the sorbets. The view of Jacques Cœur's birthplace enhances the meal.

This place lives up to all its promises; we had a wonderful dinner! The food was clearly high quality and homemade!

Restaurant to avoid We were looking for a nice little restaurant for lunch and were extremely disappointed. If you ask for a carafe of water, it will be served hot, and if you ask for colder water, they tell you to buy a bottle. We chose a brioche with Saint-Marcellin cheese: the brioche bread was burnt and the salad looked like it came straight from a plastic bag. All this for 26 euros for two: we left before dessert and coffee.

Passing through Bourges with our family, we happened to stop in front of the "here we cook homemade" sign for Le Petit Bouchon and it's true!!!! From starter to dessert it's an explosion for the taste buds, it's a must-visit place.

Tourist trap: Average homemade fries, stale rosé served in a questionable bottle, meat not cooked as requested, NO MAYONNAISE (response: "We're here early in the morning..." Homemade mayo takes 5 minutes, OMG!!). No children's menu, forcing us to order a meal for a 4-year-old who doesn't eat (€5 for fries is outrageous!). And in 35°C heat, not even a carafe of cold water!! The bill is nothing compared to the food. I do not recommend it! Avoid at all costs!
